In selecting students for Mayanot, the Admissions Committee looks at academic ability and achievement combined with personal characteristics such as motivation, leadership ability and a desire to learn about Judaism, its people, and its history. Before you continue to the application, please have the following prepared:
An essay describing your motivations for applying to Mayanot (approximately 500 words);
An essay describing your personal goals for Mayanot and how you intend to fulfill them (approximately 300 words);
Contact information (email & phone) for two references (rabbi, professor, employer, etc.);
Two recent digital photographs of yourself ;
Copy of the front page of your passport ;
Copy of your most updated resume;

No Hebrew language, previous Jewish Studies background or religious
commitment is required for acceptance to the Mayanot Institute of Jewish Studies.
