Gap Year Program Dates (PHS + Zal)

Beginning of the Year – The program and classes begin on Tuesday, August 29th, 2023 (12th of Elul, 5783).

  • The dormitories will be opening on Monday, August 28th, 2023 for students to settle in.
  • Students must be in Mayanot by Tuesday, August 29th, 2023 at 4:00 PM.

 

Sukkot Break – Begins on September 26th, 2023 (11th of Tishrei), until – Tuesday, October 10th, 2023 (25th of Tishrei).

  • Simchat Torah (October 7th) is mandatory in the Yeshiva.
  • There will be classes until Yom Kippur. The break will begin the day after Yom Kippur.
  • Classes will resume the following Mincha at 4:00 PM
  • An optional program for Zal program will run through some of Chol HaMoed Sukkot.

 

Chanukah Break – Begins on Wednesday, December 13th, 2023 (1st of Tevet), until – Sunday, December 17th, 2023 (5th of Tevet).

  • Classes will resume the following Mincha at 4:00 PM

 

Mid-Semester Break – Begins on Thursday, January 11th, 2024 (1st of Shvat), until – Monday, January 15th, 2024 (5th of Shvat).

  • Classes will resume Tuesday morning.

 

Pesach Break – Begins on Tuesday, April 9th, 2024 (1st of Nissan), until – Monday, May 6th, 2024 (28th of Nissan).

  • Classes will resume the following Mincha at 4:00 PM.

 

The program ends on the morning of June 17, 2024 (11th of Sivan, 5784).

  • The banquet will take place on the night of Sunday, June 16th, 2024.
  • Dorms close Tuesday, June 18th, 2024.

                                      Mayanot’s amazing courses are slated to continue May 24 to June 2 2021.
                                      Mayanot welcomes men and women, 19 years and older from different backgrounds and countries, to study together online. Nurturing a deep love for G-d, the Jewish people and our heritage while helping students develop skills for independent Torah learning.

                                      LEARNING WITH US

                                      Mayanot emphasizes skill development through a structured textual study. Our upcoming program is specifically geared toward our JSP-Online Academy. Centered around a core curriculum that provides students with a comprehensive Jewish learning experience, tailored to each student’s background and needs.
                                      JSP
                                      Engaging and interactive classroom learning with an emphasis on student participation, JSP covers a number of introductory themes taught by dynamic staff, in a welcoming atmosphere. Classes are usually one hour long. JSP is ideal for students who want to explore a variety of topics and experience different learning styles.
                                      No Hebrew language, previous Jewish Studies background or religious commitment is required.

                                      Our Online Community

                                      Mayanot encourages each student to grow and interact with Judaism at their own pace. The Mayanot online program offers:
                                      Academics
                                      Students are encouraged to question, challenge, and explore the classic texts and gain self proficiency. With a strong emphasis on textual study skills and giving students the tools they need to access great works, such as Talmud, in the original Hebrew and Aramaic. Classes also give students the chance to work on many diverse texts. Students are also encouraged to explore a variety of topics and experience different learning styles.

                                      Mayanot offers an array of levels and tracks to stimulate the intellect and the spirit through Jewish learning. Offering full-time and part-time learning programs, catering to a variety of student needs and schedules.

Mayanot’s small, intimate classes mean teachers are more accessible in the classroom. More importantly, our dynamic staff is always ready to answer questions and engage with students.

                                      Daily chavruta (peer-learning) sessions facilitate a better understanding of the material covered in class, speed the development of learning skills, including the mastery of original text material, and help students develop the ability to study independently.
